RESEARCH INTERESTS

My research is focused on the impacts of weather and forage availability on the timing of seasonal migration of the African Honey bee, Apis mellifera scutellata, in Kenya. During my master’s degree I am completing a Fulbright research grant in Kenya in partnership with the International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology in Nairobi.

I have experience on applied environmental research as a Fellow at NASA DEVELOP from 2019-2021 where I managed multiple projects that leveraged satellite remote sensing data to address end-user needs. I also worked on a beekeeping project for SEED Madagascar, a sustainable development organization based in southeast Madagascar. I am interested in integrating remote sensing and GIS technologies with questions about international development and sustainability, specifically around agriculture and beekeeping.
