Research Interest

I am a plant pathologist with primary areas of interest in epidemiology, integrated management of field diseases, and smart crop protection. During my postdoctoral work in the Grozinger lab, I will be testing and deploying automated biodiversity monitoring tools. I will also work on collaborative projects with Esker lab in the Department of Plant Pathology and Environmental Microbiology.

During my graduate research, I have studied the relationship of weather conditions and disease development in row crops to develop weather-based disease predictive models. My PhD work focusses on epidemiological studies and predictive modelling of stem rot disease in peanut crops. I have participated in numerous projects that employed proximal and remote sensing technologies. In collaboration with agronomists, computer scientists, and agricultural engineers, I have been involved in development and evaluation of phenotyping tools and decision support systems.

In my free time, I enjoy outdoor activities such as canoeing / kayaking, running / hiking, or mountain biking.
