Undergraduate Research Opportunity
Behavioral genetics of honey bees
Spring/Summer 2012

Research in the Grozinger Lab focuses on the molecular mechanisms which regulate social behavior in honey bees and other social insects. Our research spans behavioral assays and manipulations in the field and molecular and chemical analyses in the lab, including monitoring gene expression levels with quantitative real-time PCR and microarrays.

We are looking for motivated undergraduates who would be involved in field and lab studies of honey bees and other social insects, under the supervision of a senior researcher in the lab. Students will be trained in all the necessary techniques.

We will consider applicants for both part- and full-time employment, at $8.50-10.00/hour. Applicant should have a background in biological sciences and a valid driver's license. Previous research and lab experience is preferred but not required.  Please include information as to your interest in this position in your application, and a CV highlighting your previous science coursework and research experience.

Please send your questions and application information to Bernardo Niño @ grozingerlab@gmail.com.  Please include: Honeybee Undergraduate Research Opportunity in the subject line.
