RESEARCH INTERESTS

I am interested in the different variables that contribute to the health and efficiency of honey bee colonies. Previously, during my undergraduate career at Penn State, I conducted lab work focused on the protein and lipid concentrations in collected pollen samples to better understand honey bee’s seasonal foraging preferences. Additionally, I spent a summer looking into brood manipulation as a pest management strategy which grew my passion for beekeeping and field work as a whole.

My current research is focused on how seasonality and nutritional variance impacts royal jelly production in nurse bees. I also work with the lab on conducting protein and lipid assays for a variety of projects and am excited to continue building my wet lab skill set.
